AppMetrics for Transactions

and NetIQ AppManager

AppMetricsŪ for Transactions maximizes the availability of your applications. Organizations invest substantial sums of money in the development, deployment, and day-to-day use of large-scale applications. These business-critical applications require day-to-day management to ensure high availability and maximum return on investment.

Most of the enterprise management frameworks and several management consoles are capable of providing cursory information on your MTS or COM+ servers. Some even offer specific, optional management modules. But even with these modules, the information they generate can only tell you that your system is 'sick' or consuming resources too quickly. They are unable to answer the real questions: Which application on the server is ailing? And pinpoint which of application's components are causing the problem?

Business components often behave differently when under load than how they first behaved when engineered and tested on an isolated developer's machine. When an application enters production, load factors stress not only the application server, but also the network, web servers, even your databases. Typically load exposes errors in programming and raises performance tuning and scalability issues. And ultimately, this can have a detrimental affect on the day-to-day health of your business critical application.

Over the years, Xtremesoft has worked closely with Microsoft's MTS and COM+ development teams to create the most comprehensive management solution for these platforms. AppMetrics is designed to monitor the health of applications in production on Windows NT and Windows 2000; enabling system administrators to ensure a higher level of service over more machines, resolve 'finger-pointing' issues much more quickly, and anticipate system capacity over time. And, AppMetrics is capable of propagating its expert data into your enterprise management framework, so you'll always have a consolidated view of all your systems.
